Mary Ellen Daneels is a National Board Certified teacher who taught at West Chicago Community High School for 27 years. For the past four years, she has served as the Instructional Specialist for the Illinois Civics Hub. She has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning and highlighted in numerous publications such as Education Week, Social Education, and Educational Leadership. Mary Ellen served on the Board of Directors for the National Council of the Social Studies and worked on the Steering Committee, Pedagogy Committee, and Content Curation Committee for the recently released Educating for American Democracy Roadmap.
