How can we create climate solutions that equitably benefit all communities and address our biggest social justice needs? In this workshop we’ll practice multisolving - a way of changing lives for the better and protecting the climate at the same time. To do so, we’ll explore En-ROADS, a free, open source climate simulation model. En-ROADS allows users to test climate change solutions such as energy supply, economic growth, etc., in order to further understanding of how these systems interact. We’ll use climate solutions as a springboard towards deeper conversations about connecting communities, increasing wellbeing, and advancing equity. In this workshop you’ll have time to network with other educators and imagine how this resource fits into your own curriculum. En-ROADS workshops engage students across all subject areas to develop data literacy that informs decision-making and spurs action. En-ROADS fits best with high school level and up, but can be scaffolded to your classrooms' needs.
