The impacts from climate change are all around us. From catastrophic flooding and heatwaves to global pandemics, extreme events will continue to increase in both frequency and intensity. The ongoing news cycle’s around loss of biodiversity, catastrophic hazard events, racial injustice, and ongoing destruction of our planet can feel overwhelming and often hopeless. This session centers on recognition and understanding of individual and collective grief and identifies methods to facilitate positive perspective and impact at multiple levels. It will outline opportunities for both educators and students to integrate self-care while remaining effective agents of change.
