Welcome & Opening Statements (30 minutes)
Welcome to the kick-off to the Summer Institute for Climate Change Education! In this energizing opening, meet the organizations and people behind the Summer Institute, learn about the Institute’s community and see a map of all participants, and get excited for 3 days of climate change education.
For the last 16 years, Climate Generation has been hosting the annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education, recognizing the critical role educators play as messengers of climate literacy, and that climate change education is part of the solution. Similarly, The Wild Center has been hosting Youth Climate Summits, recognizing that youth are among our most powerful advocates. Additionally, the NOAA Climate Program Office has been leading climate literacy efforts for the nation for the last decade and a half.
Meet our partner organizations before the Institute by watching these videos: Climate Generation, The Wild Center's Youth Climate Program & NOAA.
We are also joined this year by 13 regional cohort leaders from across North America. Meet. Get to know them by reading this blog.
